Salon des Refusés at Hunter College MFA Gallery in TriBeCa, New York

My thesis exhibition, Water Bearer, part of the group exhibition Salon des Refusés at Hunter College MFA has finally happened! I have worked three years towards this moment and created an installation featuring a fountain and seven works on paper with ink stained walls.

The images and objects in this installation depict imagined scenes featuring mermaid and humans gesticulating in dark watery environments. They are part of my interest in building a mythical world inspired by my experiences and also narrative tropes in romanticism.

The show is an exploration of memory and imagination as a vessel for transmuting grief into narratives that center intimacy and sensuality.
